Chat Rules and Regulations are as follows.

The Day Trading Radio chat room is a trader friendly chat room. Please keep posts civil and polite. The most important thing is to respect others. Egos are not welcome. We’re all here to trade, make money and make friends. The chat room is here as a supplement to our daily market broadcast. We like to keep the conversations focused on trades you’re making, trading ideas, market ideas, and anything along those lines. We understand that during slow market hours, the main chat room may digress into friendly banter which is welcome as long as you follow the rules listed below.

Day Trading Radio is a small organization with a group of moderators who donate their time to take care of the chat room. They can’t always be watching the chat room, but are there to help you. If you there is something that has upset you or you feel is a violation of the rules, please let a moderator know and/or open a support ticket here (http://desk.daytradingradio.com/)

Opinions expressed in the Day Trading Radio chat room are those of the individual participating in the chat room. By using the Day Trading Radio chat room, you agree that you will not engage in any vulgar, harassing, illegal or inappropriate behavior while participating in any Day Trading Radio chat room or channel. You also agree to release Day Trading Radio from any liability which may result from your participation in the Day Trading Radio chat room. By your participation in any of the Day Trading Radio chat rooms, you agree that Day Trading Radio is not responsible for any liability you may incur from your participation

Chat room etiquette:

  • Don’t shout – Do not use caps locks
  • Don’t change your posting color – Please keep your text in the chat room to plain black, unless you are asked to change it by a moderator. Colored text is for specific traders.
  • Don’t make rude comments – This chat must stay on course and rude comments are not welcome. Day Trading Radio will have the final say on what is rude or not.
  • Don’t incite heated arguments – Outbursts happen often. Do not say anything that will keep the argument going
  • Don’t use curse words – We all have different definitions of curse words, but try not to use any that some might find offensive. It happens every so often, but don’t make a habit of using them.
  • Don’t try to sell anyone anything – If you have a product you’d like to sell, let us know first. Maybe we can have you on our show to promote your product if we feel it will benefit our members
  • Respect others – Religious, racial, sexual and gender intolerance or any form of hate speech will not be tolerated.
  • Don’t harass another member in a Private Message (PM) – We have a private message feature for our members to talk about matters that they don’t want to post in the main chat room. NEVER send a harassing, rude, threatening or any other hateful message. If this occurs, we will have to forego the warning process and boot you out of the chat room for a week and if it happens again, you will get a lifetime ban. If you are the one being harassed, please open a ticket with a screen shot of the private message, here http://desk.daytradingradio.com/

A couple of notes:

  • Day Trading Radio provides a Private Message system as part of its chat services. This system is isolated directly between those participating in the private message. No one outside of those participating will ever read any of your Private Messages.
  • There is currently no way for anyone to read those messages between private message users unless those messages are copied and shared with others or our staff. This does happen on occasion, especially if a member is being harassed. Be professional at all times and remember this. It is NOT our policy to police private conversations.  However, we do reserve the right to take action against a member who is abusive to others in private messages. Especially if the solicitation of the message was started by the abusive party.
  • However, anything you say in the main chat room or any other channels, can be copy and pasted by other members in the room for their personal records.
  • It is against our policy to copy and paste the Day Trading Radio chat room activity outside of Day Trading Radio website

Don’t forget about the “Ignore” feature. If you find someone to be offensive, annoying or is harassing you, we have an ignore feature. Here’s how to use it:

  • Find the person’s name on the right side of the chat room
  • Right click
  • Choose the “Ignore” option.

You will never have to see any posts from that person in the chat room after you do this. If this person is still coming after you and sending you Private Messages and harassing you, please let us know.

Chat Room Policies:

Do not verbally abuse, attack, embarrass, or threaten anyone  else in the chat room, no matter what they might say to you. This is probably the most important rule. You are bound to find some troublemakers on the Internet. But, the best way to deal with offensive comments is to just ignore them or simply leave the room

PROPER COMMUNICATION - Profanity, verbal attacks on others, advertisement of any sort, or promoting any business opportunity is not allowed.  DTR Chat is to be a place that feels safe to talk with others.

BE SINCERE.  DON'T MISREPRESENT, MISDIRECT, or MISIDENTIFY.  BE LEGAL - Don't post just to rile people.  Don't disrupt the purpose of the chat room or forum - they are here to foster genuine and constructive dialogue between people.  Do not post messages that contain intentional misrepresentation of facts, or intentionally distort the truth.  Do not change the subject of a thread or post or otherwise misdirect a chat discussion (a.k.a. "derail".)  Do not pretend to be another user/member or otherwise lie about your identity.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES THAT ARE NOT PERMITTED - Harassment, verbal abuse of another user, flooding, flaming, spamming, use of programs such as IRC clients, worms, bots scripts, or Trojan horses will NOT BE TOLERATED for any reason. Initiation or participation in any such activity will cause you to be banned from the Day Trading Radio chat room, and may be cause to report the behavior to your Internet service provider (ISP). Be aware that we record the ISP of all visitors and users of Day Trading Radio

POSTING LINKS - A link may be posted with information about a topic or subject that is being discussed, or if someone asks that a link be provided for additional information about a topic.  As long as links are not being added constantly or in a way that is disruptive to Day Trading Radio chat room, this is permissible.

The above list is not all-inclusive, and there may be situations where a chat conversation violates the etiquette policy in another way.  In these cases, the moderator will make the final decision regarding appropriate chat.  If you find a DTR chatroom or member that is violating policy, or if you have a technical difficulty with chat, please open a support ticket at http://desk.daytradingradio.com/

If you do not follow these rules, you will be subject to disciplinary action. The consequences are as follows:

1st offense – You will receive a warning in the chat room by one of the moderators.

2nd offense – After your warning, you will be booted from the chat room for the remainder of the day, not to exceed 24 hours.

3rd offense – Another chat room violation will result in a 3 day ban from the entire chat server(all rooms).

4th offense – Chat room access will be denied without further notice.

These violations do not have to be a continuation of the same subject matter. We will have a record of each warning that is noted. It can happen within days, months or years.  The violations are determined by Day Trading Radio and/or it’s moderators.

If you feel you are being improperly warned by a moderator, please open a support ticket here with specifics as to why they’re in the wrong. http://desk.daytradingradio.com/

Please remember, if you violate ANY of the rules above, you are subject to a warning by any moderator. Moderators have the last say in whether or not a rule was violated. We will review your request and make a decision on a case by case basis.

Day Trading Radio has the right to remove any material on our site for any reason and to end participation of any chat user for any reason, as needed without notification. However, if you follow these rules, this won’t be an issue.
